The Port and Agro-Industry Tales project concluded.
The first experience with the Port and Agro-Industry Tales project concluded successfully during December, 2008. A teaching project aimed at freshman grade pupils.
During October and November pupils and teachers of the 32 selected schools visited the Consorcio de Gestión del Puerto de Bahía Blanca and the Grain Stock, organizations that together with “Proyección Comunicaciones de Marketing” - a market research consultancy - developed this teaching experience.
The teaching aids provided were helpful to communicate the school population with the different processes of the logistics and trading chain. The visits to the Grain Stock and the port facilities were the last step to communicate pupils and teachers to the characters and places they had met in the tales.
The visit to the Consorcio included the observation of the port terminals, the fishermen dock, the General Cargo Wharf, the petrochemical activity of berth 5 in Puerto Galván and a visit to the offices of the VTS (Vessel Traffic System).
The annual closing of the valuable project was a ruffle, before a notary public, of a computer for the pupil, his/her teacher and his/her school.
Romina Tamara Rossi of School Nr. 35 of Comandante Espora and her teacher Patricia Mónica Martinez were the winners.
The intention of the Port Authority as well as of the Grain Stock is to go on with the project during 2009 and to include it in the formal High School freshman syllabus of Bahía Blanca and the neighbouring area. |
