The Bahía Blanca Port area comprises a group of facilities that spread over 25 km along the northern shore of the Bahía Blanca estuary. Within the port area there coexist different federal and provincial offices whose authority is necessary to define, with the purpose of establishing their responsibilities.

With respect to the Bahía Blanca Port Consortium, its port jurisdiction can be divided into two areas clearly distinguishable: the maritime area and the terrestrial area.
